Gwen’s passion has always been in photography and she can usually be found with a camera in her hand. As owner and operator of Fly Away Travel, she has many opportunities to combine her photography with the many places that she has had the chance to visit.
She lives in Canton, Ohio and is often found enjoying the outdoors whether it is coaching the women’s senior softball team or just out photographing nature. Her lens has captured numerous creatures both big and small, along with many smiles and laughter.
To her, photography is an exciting way to capture a moment in time. With the invention of the digital camera every click is an opportunity to find just the right shot. Whether it is a smile of a child or a still shot of a hummingbird in flight every photo tells a story.
Colleen and her husband own and live on a horse farm in Wilmington, Ohio, Trail M Boarding & Guest Farm. Along with their dogs, cats and obviously plenty of horses, their time at the farm is spent enjoying the many guest and boarders. To see the farm, you can visit their website at www.trialmfarm.com.
From an early age, Colleen has loved to draw and so decided to pursue a career in art. Upon starting college and continuing to care for her own horses, she soon realized horses were going to cost more than an art teacher could afford. Her realization led her to a career in engineering. Although she works full time as a Quality Engineer, she continues to draw in her free time.
Most of her work is done with art markers and colored pencils. She has found that the markers travel well and provide the vivid color and detail that helps capture the personality of her subjects.
Yes, we share our love of photography and art in a unique way but we have always had to share, that's what sisters do. Below is a little bit about our individual passions but you won't find out who's older.
We also share a love for hiking and have hiked the Grand Canyon more times than we can count on our fingers.
